COS joins forces with Le Kilt for a capsule rooted in craftsmanship and heritage, proving that sharp design and timeless tailoring still lead the conversation.

There are certain collaborations that simply make sense, a perfect alignment of design philosophies that feel both inevitable and necessary. The new limited capsule from COS and Le Kilt is precisely that. Launching today, October 24th, this collection is an exciting masterclass in how to blend the quiet power of minimalism at scale, with the undeniable expertise of someone who has honed into that one-product category, the kilt.

For years, COS has been the anchor of the modern wardrobe, a purveyor of the kind of sharp, considered tailoring that forms the foundation of most of our wardrobes. It’s a brand built on the principle of staples at great value that layer in with the other more directional, luxury pieces in your wardrobe. Le Kilt, under the direction of Samantha McCoach, takes a piece steeped in tradition and reinterprets it with a contemporary, almost subversive, precision. When Maria Grazia Chiuri invited Samantha to collaborate on her Scottish Highland resort collection a few years back, it was an acknowledgment of megabrands partnering up with those indies who know their expertise inside out.

What emerges from this dialogue is a new capsule collection that is going to excite most women who look for the perfect skirt to layer the coming Fall sweater weather. The kilt, as Samantha so rightly puts it, is the equivalent of a sharp pair of trousers for a woman who prefers a skirt—it carries a weight, a confidence. Here, the classic silhouettes—the mini kilt, the maxi kilt, and the tailored blazer—are rendered in COS’s signature wool-blend twill, a fabric that drapes with an elegant severity.

This is not about fleeting trends; it is about longevity. The precision of the box pleats, the sleek leather belting, and the subtly structured shoulders of the blazer all contribute to a look that is both disciplined and deeply expressive. The dark brown and black palette only reinforces the collection’s commitment to a refined, seasonless aesthetic and I personally love the pin that accentuates the classic colours.

The collaboration is a perfect blend of COS’s architectural minimalism and Le Kilt’s authoritative, modern heritage. It’s a collection that got me scrambling to order the long kilt in my size, almost sold out, only minutes of receiving the press release!. Now that's an exciting kind of fashion drop to witness.
