Walk With Us
Ornaments in Motion
Completedworks steps into sneakers for the first time with ASICS
Completedworks steps into sneakers for the first time, threading gems, bows and sculptural detail through an ASICS classic built for everyday movement
Completedworks has always treated jewellery as something alive, objects that twist, loop and settle against the body rather than sit politely on it. Anna Jewsbury’s pieces carry a sense of motion even at rest, shaped by a fascination with ornament and the small rituals of dressing. For Autumn Winter 2026, that language steps unexpectedly into footwear through the brand’s first sneaker collaboration, partnering with ASICS on a reworked GEL-KAYANO™ 20, and it’s everything you’d imagine and more.
The pairing makes intuitive sense once you see it. Completedworks approaches adornment as part of daily uniform, not special occasion, and the trainer becomes another surface for that thinking. Mesh uppers are layered with matte panels and threaded through with jewellery-like embellishments, mismatched gems, pearlescent bows, floral motifs, integrated into the structure rather than applied as decoration. Ornament isn’t added on; it’s built in. The result sits somewhere between sculpture and sportswear, delicate at a glance but grounded by the familiar ASICS sole underfoot: cushioned, wearable, made for actual movement.
Jewsbury has long been interested in the friction between elegance and utility. “As a studio, we often discuss the juxtaposition of femininity and a certain sense of ornateness with the practical and everyday. Trainers, with their simplicity and pragmatism, sit perfectly at the centre of that.” It’s easy to imagine them worn by someone who reaches for their rings before their shoes, except now the two gestures collapse into one.
The release arrives through ASICS’ Crafts for Mind initiative, which links creativity to mental wellbeing, and a portion of proceeds supports Yorkshire Sculpture Park’s community programme. The collaboration launches 21 February following its debut at the Completedworks London Fashion Week show, less a sneaker drop than an extension of the studio’s ongoing conversation about how objects move with us once they leave the workshop.
