Well Aesop’s Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque is like the big sister at the pampering slumber party, she’s all grown up, into deep-cleansing and the liberal application of essential oils.

We love this mask’s Bentonite and Kaolin clay base; perfect for soothing oily or combination skins that feel clogged or a touch greasy. The texture is buttery and thick without falling into the crumbly pitfall of most clay masks and the smell – in true Aesop style – is a divine mixture of evening primrose, sage and rosehip. We like to think of rosehip as a “hipper” rose, it’s collected from the heart of the rose when the petals drop and it’s moisturising, anti-inflammatory and full of the voguish active ingredient, vitamin C.

Aesop’s mask truly satisfies our nostalgia for clay, it sets hard and fast on the face leaving us with that classic blue-tac tinge but without stripping the skin. After a few vigorous rinses the skin is left squeaky clean and sebum-free. We feel grown up, into the liberal application of essential oils and with glowing, lustrous skin to match.
