That white oval label with those jumbled, dancing black letters has, since the 1960s, been forever associated with Diptyque. The quintessentially bohemian, Parisian brand opened its first store at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain in 1961 and it’s gone back to this location for  its latest iteration of the new, limited edition collection 34 Bazaar.

The three founders of Diptyque – Christiane Gautrot, Desmond Knoz-Leet and Yves Coueslant – once displayed their finest, most eclectic wares (think potpourris, glass beads and opulent fabrics) within the store at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain. And the 34 Bazaar collection does away with the classic oval signature in place of truly vibrant and energetic print-inspired array of perfumes, home fragrances, homewares and textiles each housed in the most colourful of packaging. Diptyque has worked with the finest craftspeople for its first foray into homewares: the illustrator Charlotte Gastaut has reimagined the brand’s print archive to create a pouch, a tote and a pillow; Portugese porcelain experts have crafted earthenware candle holders, decorated with black enamel; the master glassmaker Vincent Breed has designed a cracked and cristalled candle holder (perfect for burning the limited edition 450g pillar candles); and Massimo Borgna an Italian mirror maker has constructed a reflective marbled-mirror candle holder.

Here’s our pick of the 34 Bazaar’s best:

Scented Pillar in Feu de Bois, 450g, £48

Home fragrance fans should hold their horses as Diptyque's iconic candle fragrance Feu de Bois (wood fire) is being launched in a beautiful candle columns with tiny gold plaques for Bazaar 34. The whopping 450g pillar of scent joins two other, already launched column fragrances: Le Redoute (sweet spices and flowers) and La Prouveresse (fig and Cyprus trees).

Kimonanthe Eau de Parfum, 100ml, £130

Kimonanthe is a very grown-up, unusual perfume that is born from the marriage of incense powder and osmanthus (an Asian flower that recalls apricot, milk  and leather, yum!). Encased in this cracked glass flacon, the bottle is topped off with a resin cap inspired by founder Christiane Gautrot’s favourite necklaces.

Carrousel, £30

Kitsch and christmassy this candle carousel features a Japanese-inspired origami bird print. The carousel can be placed atop any 70g mini-candle, here modelled on the Noisetier (a warm chocolatey scent), as the flame burns a current of air is created that spins the birds around and around.

Diptyque 34 Bazaar can be bought from Liberty, where there is a pop-up Bazaar boutique until January 2017.
