There is no greater pick-me-up, pampering treat or pre-party preparation that surpasses a visit to the hairdressers for a blow-dry. London’s latest pit-stop hair destination is the new branch of Duck and Dry, just opened on Market Place after the success of its first salon on the King’s Road in Chelsea. The brainchild of Yulia Rorstrom – a former financier – this spacious, bright and pastel-toned salon specialises in proper blow dries and chic up-dos with a menu of 16 different styles. Using their own range of natural products made in Somerset, the Duck and Dry stylists will swoosh, volumise and pin your hair with speed as you relax with a glass of bubbly poured from a prosecco tap.

We opted for a “Classic Duck” and came out with a bouncy, soft and shiny look that lasted for six days. For those who prefer a wavier hairstyle the “Beach Locks” and “Va Va Voom” styles are sure to please, or if you fancy a more occasion-worthy coiffure choose the “Perfect Fishtail” or the half-up-half-down “Sixties Siren”. Go alone or book with friends, this is hairstyling heaven.

Blow dries start at £28 with updos starting at £40, book online.
