The iris, with its vibrant purple petals and sweet, woody scent, is deeply intertwined with Tiffany & Co. Delicate sketches of the flower can be found in their archives as far back as 1881, and in 1900 a lavish iris brooch, set with dermatoid garnet blossoms and Montana sapphires won Tiffany the grand price at the Paris exposition. So then, it’s no surprise that when creating their first fragrance in 15 years the jeweller would turn to the iris for inspiration.

The scent, created by master perfumer Daniela Andrier of Givaudan, tantalises the senses with a profile that is both traditional and modern. Its vibrant top notes of vert de mandarine give way to the sparkling floral musk of the iris. At the heart of the fragrance the iris butter, which is harvested in France in the summer months, evokes the refined and sophisticated, feminine sensuality that is synonymous with Tiffany. The rich scent’s glass flacon recalls the jeweller’s most iconic diamond cut: a 128.54-carat yellow diamond, discovered in 1877, which is arguably still the rarest in the world. It earned the Charles Lewis Tiffany the moniker “the king of diamonds”.

The Tiffany woman is strong, bright and daring. When creating our film, we wanted her and the fragrance to be the focus. Clear cut diamonds, a stormy sea and a single feather evoke the sensual, spirited mood of the perfume and stripped back to the bare essentials – skin and a scent – our Tiffany woman is confident and self assured.

We can think of more than a few ways to incorporate the Tiffany & Co Eau de Parfum into your everyday life. With Christmas parties just around the corner, add a warm note by matching it with a Beaufille ruffle trimmed chiffon dress, a Diane Von Furstenberg circle clutch and a Kjear Weis rouge lip. Or if, after spritzing yourself in the fragrance, you have the urge to wrap yourself in florals, then Joseph’s tailored wool suit covered in a wintery flower print is the way to go. Pair it with Tiffany’s city hardware wrap bracelet that has us dreaming of the charm bracelets of our childhood, or their diamond trimmed East West watch to amp up the drama. However you choose to wear it there’s no doubt that this is a fragrance you’ll love.
