October is a month of awareness of all kinds. While it was Mental Health Awareness Day last week (for which we charted our well-being rituals we routinely practice), it's also Breast Cancer Awareness month, 'Go Sober for October' in a bid to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, and 'Stoptober', both of the latter which are about kicking vices. It got us thinking about making mindful decisions.

In the beauty department, we've made conscious effort to scope out new-to-market beauty buys that do their bit to give back. Create

Jo Malone - Lily Of The Valley & Ivy Charity Candle
Looking for some relaxation? Light up with Jo Malone. This act of self-care is reaching beyond the walls of your tub; it's helping to care for others, too. The Lily Of The Valley & Ivy Charity Candle holds not only a delicious mix of scents including sparkling cassis, green ivy and delicate lily, but its heart lies with supporting individuals and families affected by mental health issues through dedicated projects. For each one sold, the brand is donating 75% of the RRP to these inspirational charities. Although Mental Health Awareness Day is just behind us, with Jo Malone, we’re championing every day as one for supporting those suffering.

Charlotte Tilbury - Hot Lips 2
Along with epitomising modern glamour, the makeup artist and true beauty trailblazer, Charlotte Tilbury, is giving back to those that matter. Collaborating with the non-profit humanitarian organisation Women For Women, the brand is inspiring #LipstickConfidence and empowering women survivors of war with an incredible £1 million pledge of Hot Lips 2 sales going towards creating a ripple effect. If lipstick happiness in a tube is what you’re after, then Hot Lips 2 is for you!

Kiehl’s - Made Better x John Legend Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque Mask
Stepping into sustainability with its long-standing tradition of supporting charities is Kiehl’s, the brand supplying skincare with a mission. Finding inspiration in nature is intrinsic for Kiehl’s, and so giving back to one of their muses only felt right. Despite not being a new release, their partnership with John Legend – the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque still stands strong with 100% of the proceeds going towards supporting Earth Day Network. The efficacious clay mask made with fairly traded Amazonian White Clay helps to visibly minimise pores and refine skin’s texture, all whilst striving for environmental movement worldwide. 'Better began in 1851, but better has no end'...

La Mer - The Breast Cancer Campaign Treatment Lotion
Optimising and making the best of your skincare regime is La Mer’s Treatment Lotion. Excluding three of beauty’s deadliest sins – parabens, phthalates and sulfates – this liquid energy delivers an instant rush of hydration through resurfacing the secrets of the sea. With La Mer’s Miracle Broth™, Revitalising Ferment and Softening Waters, this sea kelp powered potion sure does serve up a moisture-rush. Formula aside, we’re championing this lotion because of its charitability. In support of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, La Mer will be donating 20% of the RRP from each of the product's sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. But be quick, the line in limited edition, so grab yours quick.
