It's well-known that London is behind cities like New York and LA when it comes to leading a wellness-centric lifestyle. However, with entreprenuers like Sasha Sabapathy – who worked in the Big Apple before reaching burn out and turning to a 'clean' lifestyle – this is slowly shifting.
Last summer she founded her one-stop holistic hub, Glow Bar – promising "healing herbs for modern babes" and a scenic backdrop for the 'gram – and it's fast become one of London's favourite wellness destinations. From serving as a place to respite with a CBD-infused latte in hand, to detox via an infrared sauna, or to stock up on skincare saviours, the question is what doesn't Glow Bar have when it comes to all things health.
In a bid to learn of the favourites from its staff, we met with Store Assistant, Cat White, who ran us through the hero products.
What... Ashwagandha.
Because... This really is the product Glow Bar as a brand has been built around. We love ashwagandha here – we even have the flowers on our aprons! In terms of its makeup, it's actually a root that's ground down. It helps lower your cortisol levels so it makes stress and anxiety easier to deal with; it can reduce depression; it’s an anti-cancer herb and it helps to lower blood sugar.
If you come to the cafe, you can try ashwagandha in our Moon Milk; otherwise, if you make it at home you just need to use a teaspoon a day in smoothies or over-night oats to enjoy its benefits.
What... Crystal Comb.
Because... In rose quartz and amethyst, these combs are fantastic for scalp massages and acupressure. Aside from their function as a comb, they also double-up as a beautiful object for your bedside table.
What... Uji Matcha.
Because... The Uji Matcha is ceremonial grade Matcha which we source directly from the region of Uji in Japan. It's a nice way to get your caffeine in because you don’t get that massive high that you get with coffee – it's more of a slow increase and then a slow decrease. It’s also full of antioxidants, making it one of our best sellers.
