The homestretch of Fashion Month is very much in sight; just three days remain of Paris Fashion Week, and then it’s a wrap until next season!

Suffice to say that we’ve been living and breathing style for the best part of 30 days – and not once complaining! (OK, maybe an itsy-bitsy-teeny-tiny amount...) On reflection of the back-to-back schedule of shows and their eclectic inspirations – and indeed, that the industry cannot and should not exist as a separate entity from society itself – we’ve got to thinking about fashion as a feeling and where it exists via Coco Chanel’s famous words, “Fashion is in the sky, in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

So, to revisit the role of fashion in history and learn what we can from the wisdom of the past, we’re getting our heads stuck into coffee table tomes that celebrate and spotlight intelligent style across the ages.
