Hooray for May! As we welcome in the fifth month of the year (how-the-heck did that happen?), we say an overdue ‘hello’ to longer and, supposedly, warmer days.

Aptly, the calendar is also heating up with a filled-to-the-rafters schedule of fashion, arts and crafts. It’s all happening at once in the Capital – and we’ve rounded up the best-in-show for you to get stuck into tout de suite.

Azzedine Alaïa: The Couturier
Six months on from the sad and sudden passing of master couturier Azzedine Alaïa – and less than one month after the opening of his first ever standalone maison in London – The Design Museum will open its doors to the designer’s first UK solo show, Azzedine Alaïa: The Couturier. Conceived and self-curated in the weeks before his death, the exhibition spotlights his 35-year body of work – housing over 60 hand-crafted pieces that capture his remarkable vision and progressive approach to the female silhouette.

Azzedine Alaïa: The Couturier runs from 10 May – 7 October 2018 at The Design Museum, 224-238 Kensington High Street, W8 6AG. Main image courtesy of Peter Lindbergh.
