Because Magazine’s Little Black Book is far more than your average city guide. An insider directory to London, as seen through the eyes of our friends in fashion, beauty, fitness, food and the arts – all experts in their fields – it’s your go-to Where’s Where for niche and noteworthy recommendations to help you navigate and use our Capital at its best. This week, Lebanese-born and Paris-raised designer, Mira Mikati, reveals where you’ll find a rainbow cake that’s as bright and beautiful (and delicious) as her collections.

Where... Lola’s Cupcakes (14-18 Neal Street, London WC2H 9LY) not only has the best rainbow cake, but it's also filled with Smarties!

Why... It’s almost too beautiful to eat, but the experience I get while eating it is like no other. It’s worth each and every calorie!

Because... Colour is a simple and quick way to make me feel happy, optimistic and positive. Bright colours seem to make other people happy too, especially on a dark and rainy day.

Seeing life through a multicoloured lens, and sharing that vision throughout her fashion collections, designer Mira Mikati is the first person who springs to mind when we think of rainbows.

Spreading positive vibes via her playfully signature motifs – think flower embroidery, fairytale doodles, and slogans like ‘Here Comes The Sun’ – Mira’s collections are beacons of joy and optimism, overflowing with personality.

With each new look promising an array of kaleidoscopic colour, the queen of fun fashion was our first port of call when posing the question: Where-the-heck should I get my rainbow cake fix in London?

Tuck in – and save us a slice!
