For this week's #WomanCrushWednesday, Isabella Macpherson takes the baton from Anchor & Editor-at-Large at Bloomberg TV, Francine Lacqua, to put forward her leading lady nomination…

WHO // Tuppence Middleton

CAREER // Actor and Screenwriter.

"That’s a wrap on #FourShortFilm - Thankyou to our incredible cast and crew who made this such an amazing experience! Everyone worked so hard and I’m so excited to see what we’ve made... 🎬 #writingdebut."" @twopencemiddleton.

WHY // She’s a wonderful actor on stage and screen; whipsmart, with a dark sense of humour. I met Tuppence at the Soho Theatre, her production followed ours, and she performed in our annual Poetry Gala in January, to much applause. About a week later, during a night out, we hatched a plan to create a short film, FOUR – inspired by the number four – which was backed by Dewar’s. This was Tuppence's debut screenplay and was brilliant (thank god! As I said to her), with co-writer, actor John Hopkins.

"Caught mid-read @burberry Christmas dinner. Festive poems courtesy of @pindropstudio & delicious food. Thanks @simon_oldfield for asking me back to entertain the diners & Thankyou #burberry for dressing me up like a funky metallic Christmas pressie." @twopencemiddleton.

We, a female-lead team – Tuppence, myself, Gala Gordon and director Jennifer Sheridan – worked furiously hard to get the film made, enlisting Jack Farthing, Juliet Stevenson, Iwan Rheon, Nicholas Pinnock and a crew of 30. Tuppence and I started talking about it on February 1st, and we presented the film last week in New York, on April 3rd, exhausted, very happy, and still laughing – yes, again, she is wickedly funny. Tuppence is a taxidermist and fascinated by the murderer’s mind.
