The restaurant closure hiatus is nearly over! Finally, after months of home cooking and take aways – have your kitchen cupboards started overloading with take away tupperware too? – this weekend marks the legal re-opening of restaurants and pubs, and we couldn't be more excited!

But with so many options in London, where's best to go? Don't fret, the Because team have highlighted their favourite eateries that they're dying to get back to, which should be on the top of your list to visit too.

I'm so excited to dine in at Fischers again, my local go-to in Marylebone for Sunday brunches and comfort food. Any Corbin & King restaurant makes you feel like family, but Olivia especially at Fischers makes you feel like the most welcome guest. It's all in the detail I suppose, and from its Austrian brand heritage, its got the kind of decor and food that makes you feel like it's been there for decades. These days the greatest luxury is a restaurant cooked meal and I'm so looking forward to stepping foot into one of my favourite places.

Despite the assumption I often get from my olive colourings and name, I'm not actually Spanish. But much like many other fans of my favourite dining establishment, Lobos in Soho, I am a huge fan of Spanish cuisine. Nothing can get me salivating quicker quite like the thought of a few mini dishes of croquetas, gambas with chilli and garlic and patatas bravas. This Soho staple is the first restaurant that I'll be rushing back to, ready to be transported through taste to the sunny skies in Spain.

What I've missed the most (and still miss) during lockdown has been the ability to travel, and with that taste, the world. So naturally I'm most looking forward to one of my all time favourite far away cuisines opening up again. Hoppers in Soho is one of those typical hole-in-the-wall kinds of places that are easily overlooked considering the flashy signs of the restaurants around it. But don't let that fool you – the Sri Lankan restaurant has been around for years, and it's cuisine is as innovative as it is authentic. The tastes will transport you straight to the South Asian island, a welcome break from the gloomy London skies.
