You may not recognise this photographer's name, but you certainly will recognise some of her work. Carlota Guerrero, a Barcelona-based creative, has shot the likes of Rupi Kaur, Naomi Shimada and Madonna’s daughter Lola Leon, but most famously, Carlota shot Solange Knowles in butterfly hairclips for the artist’s music album A Seat at the Table in 2016.

Tengo un Dragón Dentro del Corazón: The Photographs of Carlota Guerrero – the first part of the title translates to I have a dragon inside my heart – is the artist's first book, and it gives a visual timeline of her photographic work and her evolving style. As a self-taught photographer, tastemaker and storyteller, her work is rooted in feminism, nature and performance, and it shows women in their most modern, progressive and body positive state. In an industry dominated by men who often present womanhood through a male lens, Carlota's work is a refreshing take that can be appreciated by any gender.

Alongside the 260 images that fill the monograph, find features from some of Carlota's collaborators including Rosalía, Rupi Kaur, Paloma Lanna, Teticia Sala and Alejandra Smits. These inspiring words sit alongside Carlota's different project, including images of women in nature; a performance piece that wowed at Art Basel Miami; a collaboration with aforementioned poet Rupi Kaur; pictures from her project documenting the transgender community in Cuba, and more, inevitably projecting a united message of power through femininity. In need of some female-affirming inspiration? Find it in this body of work.
