Is it really June already?! It appears so, even if the weather hasn't quite caught up yet.

With it seeming like we're nearing the finish line of the pandemic, now couldn't be a better time to indulge in London's cultural delights. Not sure where to start? Find our favourite events happening this month below.

RETURN TO SLYGO by Nicholas Daley at NOW Gallery
Not only is Nicholas Daley one of Britain's most exciting menswear designers to date, but he is now also an exhibition curator. RETURN TO SLYGO is a new exhibit curated by the Jamaican-Scottish designer, that marriages his three values – community, culture and craftsmanship – in an immersive experience. A place where the local community and visitors alike can come to slow down, the gallery floor is covered in bespoke woven carpets – an example of his fine tailoring techniques – that invite the visitor to enter the space, sit down and take in the surroundings at their own speed. Expect key archive imagery, family photos and iconic reggae
club t-shirts to be on display, as you step from the streets of Greenwich into Daley's world.

RETURN TO SLYGO at the NOW Gallery will run until July 4th, visit it at The Gateway Pavilions, Peninsula Square, Greenwich Peninsula, London, SE10 0SQ.

Divine Southgate-Smith at Browns East
Fancy mixing your retail trip with a modern art viewing? Then head done to Browns East and visit their immersive room, where Divine Southgate-Smith will be exhibiting a video installation. As a British trans-disciplinary artist currently studying at the Royal Academy of Art, Divine has developed a practice comprising film, text, spoken word, performance, sound, installation, and sculpture. The piece deals with what the artist considers to be the most seductive forms of expression today – freedom of speech, freedom to love, equality, and change – and examines articulations of Blackness through original and archive material. As she quickly rises within the art scene, experience her work in a truly unique way.

Divine Southgate-Smith's installation at Browns East will run until July 13th, and you can visit it at 21 Club Row, London E2 7EY.

Jean Dubuffet: Brutal Beauty at the Barbican
In the first major respective of his work in over 50 years, this exhibition champions his rebellious philosophy. Including works that span four decades of the artist's career, from early portraits and fantastical statues, to butterfly assemblages and giant colourful canvases, expect to experience an emotive response – whether that's love or hate – that the artist constantly strived for. Bauwerk Colour give a colourful backdrop to the post-war art, as their raw and chalky paints have been plastered across the walls of the exhibition. Immerse yourself into the brutal, but beautiful world of Jean Dubuffet

Jean Dubuffet: Brutal Beauty will run until August 22nd, visit it at
Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8DS.

Creative Seva Print Sale
Started by fashion photographer and director Jam Patel, Creative Seva was born after witnessing from afar the tragedy occurring in India, with the second wave of Covid-19. In just over a week, Jam accumulated photography prints from a selection of renowned artists – Rankin, Ellen Von Unwerth and Steve McCurry, to name a few – to sell in a bid to raise funds for Khalsa Aid, who are distributing oxygen concentrators in Delhi; Hemkunt Foundation, who are distributing oxygen cylinders around Delhi
NCR; and Feeding From Far, who are working with NGO Prayatna distributing food in Mumbai to those severely affected by the pandemic. From the amazing response they received after opening shop on May 18th, Jam has decided to continue selling till mid-June. With there being just 50 prints of each image, and only costing £100 universally across the selection, this is an easy way of nabbing yourself some unique art whilst helping those in need.

The Creative Seva print sale will continue until mid-June, and you can buy the prints here.
