Because there’s no place quite like the Great British high street – from its niche independents, to seasonal pop-ups and those expansive yet elegant department stores – Because Magazine has been on a mission to champion the bricks-and-mortar of London retail in all its glory. And now with our new Store Stories feature, we're taking you with us on a 3D tour in our favourite retail destinations – a high definition taster of what you can experience IRL without having to leave your home! We're launching with one of our favourites, The New Craftsmen in Mayfair, to find out more about Britain's best artisans direct from the store and its co-founder, Catherine Lock. Take a walk with us now!

In 2010, co-founder and creative director of The New Craftsmen, Catherine Lock, went on a road trip around the British Isles to discover and connect with different crafts and their heritage. Over five months, she met with different artisans who explained why their craft was not only unique in design, but wholly original because of their regional birthplace, materials and history. Et voila! The New Craftsmen was born as a national platform for these talented makers.

With our new three-dimensional walk-through feature, you can move through the entire boutique yourself and discover Catherine's favourite products, highlighted through hotspots (not only shoppable, they also tell us why!) as well as an introduction from the co-founder herself.

Visit The New Craftsmen at 34 N Row, London, W1K 6DG. Or, their online store here.
