The Scottish cashmere brand Brora has collaborated with designer Eudon Choi for an AW15 collection, released today. The inspiration behind the collection is 1970s après-ski. Initially that might draw the mind to itchy turtlenecks and snow-sodden socks, but the collaboration has given it a  luxurious update. Jumpers, capes, scarves, hats and even hot water bottles have been created – all in cashmere spun in an over 200 year old factory in the Borders. Eudon has taken the alpine theme and run with it, knitting images of goggles, skis, and poles into the clothes.

Brora was established in 1993, and is predominantly known for its cashmere. Creative director Victoria Stapleton has led the way in expanding the brand’s range of clothing. South Korean born and London based Eudon Choi’s label is six years old. Eudon originally trained as a menswear designer, and brings masculine tailoring and details into his womenswear collections. This is the first time that the two brands are collaborating, and they have produced fifteen pieces.

Eudon says of the collaboration: "I was drawn into '70s with my main collection for AW15 which was inspired by a Japanese Architecture movement from the era, I really wanted to create a link between my main collection and Brora collaboration. For the Brora range, there were so many great vintage ski-ware pieces that I could look into and the shapes and designs somehow felt very Brora and also very fresh. There were some great colour blocking ideas as well as a lot with different knitting techniques with multi colour yarns knitted in to create the textures effects."

The Eudon Choi + Brora collection launches exclusively today at Brora’s flagship store on Sloane Square and select boutique shops in places like Marylebone High Street, Westbourne Grove, and Madison Avenue, and is also available online. 5% of all proceeds will be donated to Child Bereavement UK. Even if you don't make it to the slopes, Eudon and Brora can make you feel like you're there.
