Famous Blue Raincoat is a 1971 song by Leonard Cohen from his album Songs of Love and Hate, in which he sings about a love triangle. Cohen sings about ‘your famous blue raincoat was torn at the shoulder,’ but in a later interview revealed that the inspiration came from his own blue raincoat, one from Burberry that he’d bought on a trip to London.

Back on the streets of London Avishag has taken inspiration from Leonard Cohen with her own blue raincoat atop an entirely black outfit...with no rips in sight. Bare legs, sandals and sunnies make her prepared to whip off the coat if the sun does decide to come out, a clever way to keep all bases covered when you leave the house in the morning.

Not surprisingly, Avishag has 42k followers on Instagram so take a look at some of her other outfits here. And if you’re in the mood for a bit of melancholy, have a listen to Cohen’s song.
