Simone Rocha’s Mount Street flagship store is a reflection of the designer herself: poetic, romantic yet modern. The Irish designer has mastered the art of creating clothes that speak to women today, reminding us of how it was to play dress up.

Rocha’s world of beautiful contradictions left us in a haze. Think tulle against tweed, organza against ornate embellishment, and moody black against passionate red and the sweetest pink. Polished on the outside with an undone feel when you look up close and touch the garments, Rocha always has a rebellious quality underneath all the layers.

What are we still daydreaming about? A red sheer dress that is a little demure and a little daring; a super-sized pink coat that will make street-style photographers do a double take; a pair of red Perspex-heeled flats that’ll transport us to Oz; a black crochet ensemble that embodies “chic fairytale villain”; and a purple dress that gave us both eerie and ethereal vibes.

Rocha doesn’t give us girly without taking us to the dark side. This ensemble is a little bit gothic with a whole lot of drama! Wear the three pieces layered together for a statement look or mix and match with other black staples.

Rocha’s latest collection was a meditation on maternity and we think motherhood is doing wonders for Rocha’s creative genius. We adore this modern take on Victorian matron’s attire – the yellow collar embellishment adds a little off-kilter mystery.
