If you haven’t heard of illustrator Donald Robertson, you’ve definitely seen his work. Going by @drawbertson on Instagram, his cheeky drawings of key industry players like Karl Lagerfeld, Grace Coddington and Linda Fargo are sure to have made an appearance on your feed. With almost 200,000 followers today, he began sharing his work on the platform back in 2014 and the audience for his haphazard doodles with exuberant splashes of colour grew rapidly. With a background in beauty – he was one of the founding members of M.A.C – he was soon collaborating with the likes of Smashbox and counting Beyoncé (yes, Beyoncé!) as a collector.

His most famous sketches and some specially created treats have been lavishly compiled in a new book DONALD, released today by Aussouline, alongside anecdotes from collaborators and muses and candid pictures inside his studio. We predict this becoming a coffee-table classic... and if you’re not following him, we suggest changing that.
