Preen’s first capsule collection for L.K.Bennett, launching today, did not disappoint. Husband and wife design duo, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi were inspired by the watercolours of Scottish artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who spent a lot of time in their village Walberswick, Suffolk. His work features graphic linear lines, juxtaposed with soft botanical compositions – these stylised floral illustrations and chequered wave patterns are carried over into the 16-piece collection, of which British model Erin O’Connor is the face. There’s also an abundance of sequins, asymmetrical hems, classic Preen prints and plenty of colour. It’s a real treat.
