We're stalwarts to wearable art – take Dinosaur Designs resin bags or Prada's first foray into fine gold jewellery as cases in point.

Naturally, wearable art inspired by art itself and born out of a collaboration from Simone Rocha and Hauser & Wirth, pushes this predilection even further.

Inspired by one of the most important and influential artists of the twentieth century, French-American artist, Louise Bourgeois – who has long been an inspiration for Simone since seeing her work in the Irish Museum of Art while studying, and whose works across a variety of genres and media included body parts, houses and spiders – the project looks to the late artists's fabric hangings works to realise two styles of earrings.

In 24 carat gold plated sterling silver, two specific artworks come to life in reimagined gold outline: 'SPIRAL WOMAN' (2003), where a female half-body where the head of the future is replaced with snail-like organic form, and 'UNTITLED' (1995), which sees a limp hanging figure. With the silhouettes taking on similar forms, opt to break the pairing rules and wear one of each at any given time, stacking them with gold hoops for extra style kudos.
