Launching last year as a three-day long installation, fictitious couple Mrs & Mr Bateman – the brainchild of artist, Selena Beaudry, vintage fashion dealer, Clemmie Myers, and interior designer, Natalie Tredgett – opened their Soho-based home to the public, welcoming guests to walk through the installation and shop the display.

Following its success, Mrs & Mr Bateman now launch an immersive art, fashion and interiors installation, I AM BATEMAN: The Relations – in collaboration with a series of creatives including Clio Peppiatt, Zoe Jordan and Nathalie Ballout – which invites guests to journey through their fantastical world and meet their various relations, including the groomsman, their niece Bunny and Mr Bateman’s illegitimate son, Vincent.

Ahead of diving into the new and immersive retail experience, learn of the top three favourite picks from one third of the trio, Clemmie.

What… Vintage dress and jewellery by Sarah Hendler.

Because… "This piece is unusual in terms of its mixed material or a sheer sleeve and thin knit – I’m always interested in pieces that have this mixed material. The print is amazing – I got it in New York quite recently. I chose it for Bateman for how its material and print mix with the aesthetic; I’m always trying to look for pieces that could be artwork that you could hang up… You know how people hang kimonos on the wall, I’m always looking out for pieces that could be framed. I think also because in England when it comes to Spring/Summer it's never that warm, so it’s quite nice to have a dress that’s this fabric with a summery print. It’s something really nice that you could wear to a wedding or a party that not everybody else is going to have."

What… Martin Kidman for Joseph Jumper.

Because… "I’m a massive knitwear fan and I love this Martin Kidman for Joseph jumper from 1985 – there’s the same one in the V&A! It’s hard to find really good knitwear, and also with what I do there’s the collectable side, so some people are coming to Bateman to collect artworks and interiors pieces, and we’re trying to do that with the fashion as well. You could have this framed – it’s a great piece that you could have hanging on your wall."

What… Beaded Dress by Clio Peppiatt.

Because… "I started following Clio on Instagram and I loved her work. Not only are her pieces all beautifully handmade, but I also love her aesthetic: it’s slightly pagan and it’s got this high energy feminine witchy feel. It’s cinematic with a storytelling element, similar to the Bateman ethos."

Mr and Mrs Bateman runs until 11 May at 2 Blenheim Crescent, Notting Hill, W11 1NN.
