Because there’s no place quite like the Great British high street – from its niche independents, to seasonal Pop-Ups and those expansive yet elegant department stores – Because Magazine is on a mission to champion the bricks-and-mortar of London in all its glory. Each week, we’ll beeline to the rails of our favourite retailers to scope out the must-have pieces and in-store exclusives that are more than worth making an effort for. This week, we're at the Oxford Street flagship of Sunglass Hut.

Summer may be on its way out, but it's never too late to update your sunnies collection – especially in anticipation for SS20 (in tandem with Fashion Week, we really like to think ahead). With Sunglass Hut boasting exclusive models from brands including Miu Miu, Prada and Burberry, you'll be sure to find every style under the sun.

Starting way back in 1971 as a small kiosk in Miami, the retailer have since reached international acclaim with over 2500 locations worldwide, but they haven't forgotten their humble beginnings. Despite astronomical growth, they have retained their specialised dedication in finding the perfect pair for each and every customer.

We visited the Oxford Street flagship store to determine the three most in sunglasses. Get your shade game on!

What… Sunglasses by Valentino.

Because… “Valentino is a very stylish brand. The shape is very trendy, slightly cat-eye, feminine, clean shape. Honestly, customers love these. This is the new trend.”

What… Sunglasses by Dolce & Gabbana

Because… “Guys love Dolce & Gabbana; this is one of our bestsellers in-store. The trend now for young guys is logo on frames, they love Dolce & Gabbana logo on the side. Flat lenses, mirrored lenses, this is the trend and people love it. They especially love this black frame colour with blue lenses because it’s unique and it’s not easy to find in other brands.”

What… Persol Sunglasses

Because… “Persol’s aesthetic is a classic shape, a vintage look, vintage colour of the frame. Also, this model is a bit of a twist because of its three lenses. It’s for people that love the classic and iconic style of Persol but at the same time want to be up to date with the latest trends. They go with everything: a pair of jeans, a polo or a suit and they still look good. Think classic with a twist.”
