Beginning her career as a journalist and stylist at our sister publication, Tank Magazine, creative director and designer, Alex Eagle, has since fully fleshed out one hell of an empire with her own namesake concept store.

Setting up shop in 2014, the Alex Eagle Studio is your one-stop-shop for a 360 wardrobe and home overhaul. From multi-brand womenswear brands – including her own line that pools inspiration from the boys, and the likes of newly-launched, TOVE – to art deco gingham furniture from Ben Kelly and art by Daniel Preece, lavish luxuries abound in the Soho-based space.

Designed to be a place of inspiration (at the core of the concept space, Alex invites you to hang out and revel in its splendor), the Alex Eagle Studio hones in on the social aspects of what it means to think outside the box – fusing together elements of the gallery, home and store to generate innovative retail and co-working spaces. Meanwhile, since 2015 Alex has also been the forewoman behind the ‘The Store’ – a platform for, but not restricted to, the best in fashion, arts and design.

What’s the mantra you tell yourself first thing in the morning?
‘Seize the day’ – an oldie but a goodie. It starts me off on strong a positive mood for the day.

How do you take your coffee?
I love coffee and will take it any which way. I’m a Gemini so half of me loves a strong double espresso, while the other half loves a more indulgent almond latte with honey from my favourite spot: Soho Grind.

If you weren’t doing what you’re doing now, what would you be doing instead?
I would have loved to have been a photographer, whether I would be any good at it or not I’m not so sure, but I spend so much of my time taking photos and love being able to showcase all the things I discover and find inspiring. The idea of being a potter in St Ives is appealing to me but I wonder how long I would really last outside of a big city...

If you could only keep one outfit in your wardrobe, which would it be?
An Alex Eagle Bespoke suit – it goes with everything for every occasion and I would always have something chic to wear.

Who’s one person you’d love to have dinner with?
Peggy Guggenheim is a lifelong hero of mine and would be a great guest, I would love to hear all her stories first hand. I have read all her books but I am desperate to hear all the personal details that were left out. Pablo Picasso would be a blast and an outrageous flirt, I’ve always had a crush on him!

What’s the main thing you would like to achieve this year?
I am doing an interiors book at the moment which is my first venture into the literary world, I’m super excited about it and it’s all nose to the grindstone to get it completed and to the standard we want – I would be thrilled.

Who would you want to record your audio autobiography, voice-wise?
I could listen to Kirsty Young all day, every day.

Why did you end up doing what you do?
Because I have always loved all things art, fashion and design – it was has been a mixture of falling into it and bloody hard work.
