We’re sure you’re familiar with Whistles – the contemporary womenswear brand ubiquitous on the high street. Who you might not have heard of, however, is their latest collaborator: Istanbul-born handbag brand, Mlouye. Let us introduce you...
The brainchild of architect and design aficionado, Meb Rure – who has a penchant for craftsmanship, an eye for design and a passion for sustainability – Mlouye's styles arrive loaded with artistic reference and come as stylish as they are sturdy. Bauhaus artists and architects like Mies Van der Rohe and Kandinsky, among her points of inspiration.
Operating out of Turkey and the United States, Mlouye has already garnered a loyal following (of 80k on the 'gram), but now sees the brand enter the UK market with its Whistles partnership; a brand who echo their pillars of sustainability and quality.
An offering of six, comprising a belt bag in tan croc leather and a bucket bag in patent leather – all which are adaptations of Mlouye's signature styles – it wasn't easy to cherrypick just the one. However, with its wind spinner silhouette and bright yellow hue (reminding us somewhat of a honeypot), one of Mlouye's bestsellers, the Helix, drew us in.
An attention-seeker for its bold ways, with London Fashion Week fast approaching, you'll be peacocking whether deliberate or not. Meanwhile, complete with a suede internal compartment and drawstring fastening to stow the usual, this bucket bag is more than a pretty face; consider it the full package.
