Establishing a brand is never easy, but trying to do so in the midst of a pandemic is nigh on impossible. Whether it be creating awareness of your brand in an over saturated market or trying to get the attention of major stockists, it’s an uphill battle, so a helping hand from those around the globe is always appreciated. Which is why we can’t help but get excited about Fashion Trust Arabia’s collaboration with Matches Fashion; the official retailer for the philanthropic initiative that nurtures and gives a platform to designers from the Middle East. As of yesterday, the five winner's collections from last year’s awards were stocked on the site, ready to be shopped by the array of customers the company caters to.

Along with stocking the finalist’s collections, the retailer has also provided a yearlong mentorship program with their buying team and brought the designers to London and New York to participate in workshops with business leaders in content, communications, branding, sustainability, logistics and e-commerce. With this invaluable advice and leg-up into the luxury market, the designer’s are set to soar.

With the winning collections spanning over clothing, accessories and jewellery, there are a few design delights that deserve a loved spot within your wardrobe. Salim Azzam’s folklore-inspired tailored shirts are beautifully made by the local craftsmen of his home village in Beirut, and their unique but classic design means they’ll be a staple piece that’ll transcend through the seasons. Or if you’re looking for an update of your summer accessories, look to Moroccan footwear label Zynne and Sabry Marouf’s handbags to uplift your outfit with joy and colour.
