During the first lockdown, the Because team fantasised about all the beautiful things they wished that they could be wearing, as a way of keeping their spirits high and their minds inspired. 

A year on and with the end of our third lockdown in sight, they're still dreaming of what they could be wearing and what they could be doing, but this time, they're transporting their fantasy wardrobes to another part of the globe. 

Desperately wanting to travel anywhere where they won't hear the mutterings of an English accent, the Because team have imagined what they would be wearing if they could go anywhere in the world. This week, publishing assistant, Delia Wagner, shares where she would rather be, and what she'll be wearing.

After a year of non-travel, being stuck between Hyde Park and the Thames, in my fantasy I am continuing my adventures from pre-covid times of exploring new parts of the world. Next up would have been South America, and so I'm packing my imaginary bags full of bursts of colour, embroidery and breezy linen and taking off to Machu Picchu and co.

My first destination will be the vibrant city of Lima in Peru. I imagine walking through the coloured streets and eating the most amazing food (at least half the reason for this to be my first dream destination is visiting the world famous restaurant Central). In tune with the cobbled streets, I'd be wearing this paisley-print dress by Zimmermann and suede boots by Jimmy Choo. Reminiscent of the warm sunset hues, this 60s inspired look is making me dream of getting lost in the city. The A-line dress and long sleeve combo also makes for the perfect day to night look, for when you're so busy exploring you forget the time and find yourself strolling around the city deep into the night.



It wouldn't be a trip to Peru if we didn't make the trip up Macchu Picchu. Lucky for me, since this is all a fantasy, my outfit doesn't have to be practical for hiking and can instead be completely outrageous (but so so good!): enter this two piece set by Agua by Agua Bendita. Handmade in Colombia by local artisans, it's a beautifully embroidered set, inspired by the vibrant colours of Latin America. The floor length skirt is undeniably elegant while the cropped top gives it a certain youthfulness. I would pair it with a bold accessories, such as this By Alona gold-plated choker.



Last but not least I am stopping over in Buenos Aires, to visit an old friend who recently moved here. For a more city appropriate look, I chose this tailored suit by Max Mara, paired with a swimsuit worn as a bodysuit (for obvious practical reasons because we are still by the beach). Crafted from finest Italian linen, this suit is the perfect breezy answer to an adventure filled day in Argentina's capitol.
