We've seen some unlikely fashion partnerships over the years, with the recent Gucci and Asda one being at the top of the weird collaborations list. But the news of skatewear brand Palace setting up shop in Harrods comes as a close second.

The renowned English retailer is inviting skateboarders and Christmas shoppers alike to visit the 'Palace Harrods' pop-up, which can be found on their menswear floor of the Knightsbridge store. Inside, the two respective juggernauts have collaborated on exclusive garments and accessories where the emblematic Harrods logo has been swapped with Palace's. Whilst it's a first for Harrods, it's a continuation of the skate brand’s previous unique and surprising brand projects. "Palace is known for their disruptive and unexpected collaborations, and this is absolutely one of the most unexpected in a year full of surprising ones," says Simon Longland, head of menswear at Harrods. "When we decided to collaborate with Palace, a Christmas capsule was intrinsically our first thought, specifically the legendary Christmas hamper. Palace is famed for merging its DNA with other brands and retailers to create a wholly original collection, and it’s hugely exciting for us that they have joined forces with a brand as iconic as ours."

From oversized varsity jackets and wool caps, to hoodie donned teddies and classic Harrods Christmas hampers, the collection has something for everyone whether you think skateboarding is gnarly or not – but for those who do, take note of their limited edition skateboard. As the in store pop-up is running for this weekend only, snap up something before it's too late.

Shop Palace Harrods online here or via the pop-up in Harrods, 87–135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London, SW1X 7XL.
