It couldn't be all the more true that many of us would like to say sayonara to 2021 in favour of moving on but we've always been of the opinion that a dig through the past can inform the present – just think of all the fashion houses who have revived pieces from their archives. The next to take up the sartorial spade is LA-based brand The Elder Statesman.

The knitwear label has just launched a 23-piece exclusive capsule at MATCHESFASHION, revisiting their most beloved archival pieces, and reworking them not just in the form of clothing but homeware, too. The Flower Rays motif, which takes inspiration from founder Greg Chait's grandmother-cum-artist, Thelma Chait, can now be enjoyed equally on a pair of cashmere trousers or as a cashmere cushion. A running theme throughout the entire collection is the psychedelic and carefree energy that the pieces carry, and subsequently, what The Elder Statesman is known for. From cloud tie-dye mushroom cushions to swirl patterned bouclé jumpers, the collection is a celebration of colour and exuberance. As Creative Director Bailey Hunter puts it, "We always have fun, and don’t take things too seriously." That's as good advice as any to finish out the year so shop the collection below and get colourful!
