Remember that time in April 2020 when we were all wearing blue latex gloves to touch anything - from public surfaces, deliveries, even grocery shopping? It was a time of high panic, the unknown and the highly protective. From that period comes a wave of protectiv-gear inspiration, if the catwalk has any memory foam embedded within it.

Check the SS22 runways of Gucci, Chanel, Sportmax and Saint Laurent and you'll find a ubiquitous glove - mostly long to slide up your top arm, crystallized and embellished, or patterned or made of lace.

As an ode to the glamorous protective, we've shot some of the most fun gloves that add pizzaz, if little protection, to an outfit; from brands such as Fruity Booty, Handsome Stockholm and Cornelia James (she is the queen of long gloves for special occasions!)

Another glove label we tried to get our hands on to shoot is T-Label, but given their made-to-order model and long lead times to produce (which we wholly appreciate as it means a lot less stock waste!) we weren't able to include them. With their twisting fins around the arm, they are a great showstopper accessory.
