Known for fostering some of fashion’s biggest names, this year, Machine-A is marking its 10th anniversary with a brand-spanking new shop. Machine-A’s recently refurbished store, nestled in between the sex shops, hole-in-the-wall restaurants and records shops of London’s Soho’s, extends its offering into the basement of the former massage parlour below.

Double in size the shop's layout has been reconfigured by interior designer Peining Lu, who also conceptualised the concept for Machine-A Shanghai, which opened last year with a Raf Simons pop-up. Peining’s vision is rendered in exposed plaster, subway tiles and poured concrete flooring, with pieces from the eclectic mix of designers standout hanging uniformly in the space.

Founded back in 2013, Machine-A has brought in cult names and new brands alike, from Bianca Saunders, Chet Lo and Jawara Alleyne to Maison Margiela, Comme des Garçons, and old Raf, Stavros’s boutique has housed some of the most exciting names in global fashion. He even plucks collections straight off the runway at grad shows, giving young talents a much-needed platform away from the (often unachievable) demands of mega-retailers.

Stavros’s meticulously curated edit has gained him worldwide recognition as a tastemaker in the industry. And the brand’s permanent home is truly an independent and modest place for discovering the best of fashion right now.
