The SS23 runways have had no shortage of statement footwear to suit every silhouette- from Marc Jacobs’ beloved Kiki’s to Proenza Schouler’s sky-high, cloudlike sandals. Fit for stomping around fashion capitals, platform shoes have dug their (very high platform) heels firmly into the ground and aren’t going away anytime soon. We’ve rounded up some of the best straight from the Milan runway, to ensure comfort and major impact this spring.

Etro Paisley Clogs

This ain’t your Grandma’s clogs! Combining a unique toe curl with Etro’s historic Paisley jacquard fabric, these hybrid heels are full of character! The brand’s new creative director Marco de Vincenzo plasters his attention to detail and affinity with embellishment all over these towering clogs with shiny studs and a wooden sole.

Versace Purple Platforms

A world away from last season’s chic viral Medusa pumps, Donatella Versace has reinvented the platform by embracing the grungy side of the Versace woman. Our favourite violet platforms contrast the delicate floral and lace ensembles they were paired with on the runway. Their chunky sneaker-style soles and striking metallic hardware are sure to cast a gothic shadow.

Fendi Chunky Rubber Sandals

Fendi’s funky platforms were the star of the show at their runway debut in Milan. The brightly-coloured kicks of screaming green and punch pink made the muted neutrals of the collection pop. A bubblegum vision from Creative Director Kim Jones’ spin on Y2K, the peep-toed sandals are a front-runner for this season’s ‘It’ shoe.
