Pizza Party

Around this time last year, I was soaking up the sun and eating my way through a holiday in Napoli – Italy’s ancestral land of the pizza. This bank holiday I’ll be spending my Saturday evening trying to replicate the doughy delights served up on Napoli’s pizza mile, in my East London back garden – regardless of the weather.

I'll be donning a Reformation black linen Tagliettelle dress for the occasion, because what says springtime romance on the Italian coast better than breezy linen and a scalloped neckline? I’ll be garnishing my margarita pizzas with fresh mozzarella, rich tomato sauce and flourishes of basil while wearing a Christopher Kane apron to keep my dress spillage-free; and slipping on some Adeye mules for home comfort.

Once bubbling and delicious I’ll be serving my homemade slices straight into my guests' hands with some adorable hand-embroidered napkins – I firmly believe that pizza doesn't warrant a plate and should be eaten as messily as desired. To top off the tablescape, I’ll opt for a set of chic black frosted wine glasses by Tom Dixon, suitable for both vino rosso and Aperol, depending on where the late evening takes us.

Pub Lunch

There’s only one thing that a day off work on Monday calls for: a Sunday pub trip. Waving goodbye to Sunday blues, I’ll be dropping in at my local for an afternoon of catch-ups, card games and craft beer.

You’ll catch me sipping on a pint, carrying a slouchy Kiko Kostadinov bag loaded with L’Objet playing cards for when one of my friends eventually suggests a quick game of rummy on the sticky pub table. The British pub experience is all about crowding around a tiny table on wobbly stools and laughing with friends – so that’s how i’ll be spending this bank holiday.

I’ll sling an Annie Bing classic khaki bomber over my shoulders in case the weather takes an unexpected turn; paired with a pair of high-waisted wide-leg trousers from COS for added sleek comfort. I’ll top my look off with Simone Rocha ballet flats and tortoise shell Loewe shades. Cheers!

May Day Parade

There is no finer way to spend the May Bank Holiday than in Hastings, which hosts both Jack-in-the-Green, a folk festival in which attendants garb themselves in foliage and parade down the street, and – somewhat unexpectedly – Bike1066, one of the largest British biker shows. I will be paying tribute to the quirky spirit of the festival, in which two radically different styles exist harmoniously together by pairing a green Marine Serre t-shirt with a gorgeous Saint Laurent biker jacket.

Between the roar of the bike engines, the pounding of the drumming displays and the clink of morris dancers, my sensitive ears will be in need of some TLC, which is where a pair of these stylish noise-cancelling earbuds from Sony will come in handy.

The release of the symbolic figure of “Jack” represents the unleashing of the spirit of the summer after the long winter months. Honouring this spirit of merriment and brightness, I’ll also be sporting some deliriously psychedelic shoes from Converse, alongside Marni's similarly vibrant tote bag.
