Heeled Flip-flops and Capris
Channelling the 90s, heeled flip-flops have become a staple of summer wardrobes, and there's no better pairing than with another nostalgic favourite: the tailored Capri. Both pieces made a comeback in the summer months, so it was only a matter of time before they were combined. Embrace a casual yet chic aesthetic, taking inspiration from Copenhagen’s style set and seamlessly transition from day to night.
Mini Skirts over Jeans
The prominence of mini skirts over jeans marked a bold return to a trend that had been dormant since the early 2000s. This layered look was a study in contrasts, mashing up the cheeky, feminine nature of the mini skirt with something more relaxed and utilitarian. Whether through denim-on-denim pairings with varied washes or the integration of patterned, tartan or lace, this trend exemplified Copenhagen's knack for reworking past styles into something distinctly fresh.
Pointed Heels and Socks
Both a preppy statement and a nod to comfort (because nothing is worse than shoes that rub) razor-sharp heels were softened by the sporty addition of socks. The range of sock styles – sheer, lace and solid ribbed hues – allowed for subtle personalisation within the trend. A more comfortable option, well-suited to Copenhagen's cobbled streets.
Jorts and Knee-high Boots
From the fields of Glastonbury to fashion week, knee-high boots were an unexpected hit this summer. On the ground in Copenhagen, the rough-edged aesthetic of chunky leather boots was best paired with Jorts. The addition of an oversized men’s shirt or leather jacket further emphasised the gritty, yet considered, approach to this trend, reflecting a broader move towards a more rugged style.
Bags and Charms
We’ve already covered the bag charm frenzy that's flooding our feeds right now, but we couldn't go without mentioning its crucial role in defining the season’s street style in the Danish capital. Teddy bears, tassels, beads and keys – the more personalised the better!
