Hot off the heels of Gucci's destination show in London for Gucci Cruise 2025, which saw international press flock to London’s beloved Tate Modern, the house debuted "Gucci Lido," a capsule collection which serves as an ode to the charm of Italy's beach clubs. Lidos are famed along the illustrious coastal towns in Italy – from the Amalfi to Sbarcatello where Gucci hosted a private event for guests to fully immerse themselves in the start of an Italian summer.
Gucci Lido, the collection, features a range of swimwear and resort wear pieces but notably pays homage to house signatures by way of fresh takes on the Gucci Jackie and GG Marmont bags, now shown in straw effect raffia and canvas–fitting for La Dolce Vita. GG canvas accessories, like Gucci Luce and Moon side bags, are rendered in Italian sky blue or decorated with neon detailing to the classic monogram motif. As one social media user noted, "Gucci's blue now?"
Upon arriving at the house last year, Sabato De Sarno quickly established a deep, burgundy red as his Gucci Ancora colour, painting furniture, cabs, kiosks and products in the hue. March Vogue covers across the world were illuminated in the unmistakable shade, and debut collection, which we admit was a baller move. So now, Gucci Lido doubles down with a new sky blue tint across accessories, beach umbrellas, surfboards, gelato carts and more that dotted the Il Pellicano hotel experience.
Gucci Lido will be showcased through in-store pop-ups in luxury resort destinations such as Porto Cervo, Capri, the Hamptons, and Saint-Tropez. There's no doubt that Italian hospitality and beauty within the Mediterranean landscapes makes us dream, and even if we don't get to the Tuscan coast, at least we can take a little bit of Gucci Lido with us on our way.
