Once condemned to the domestic spaces laden with carpet or wood flooring, slippers have always been strewn around houses and left at the front door, never to venture beyond that limit to the outside world. While Jonathan Anderson pinched inspiration from his grandmother’s trusted house shoes for his AW24 collection. Jennifer Lawrence was pictured slipping around the streets of New York in a pair of the Row’s sock pumps and fashion week street style photos captured once be-heeled glitterati donning velvet, embellished and fur-lined slippers. Maybe beauty isn't pain after all…

Birkenstocks are of course a staple slip-on shoe, paired with baggy jeans and slouchy woollen socks, they’re a perfect indoor comfort, outdoor practicality option.
