19 days into our advent calendars, the countdown for Christmas is nearly at its peak. While it's easier to get caught up in the month's festivities (who can resist Christmas markets filled with mince pies and mulled wine?) nothing can quite compare with the day itself. Stepping up to give us some make-up inspiration keeping fit with the occasion, is Contributing Beauty Editor, Rachel Singer Clark, whose concocted the perfect Christmas eye look. Watch the creative process above, and find out more tips on how to achieve the look below.

Step One
Begin lining the inner and top water lines with Charlotte Tilbury's Rock 'N Kohl pencil in Bedroom Black. Use the Shu Uemura Dark Brown Cream Eye Shadow to crest definition on the socket line of the eye and also bring it softly underneath, clean up with a cotton bud where needed. See where you can place the shadow around the eye to widen them and make the socket more defined. Don't be scared to make it bigger! Just blend away where it's not needed to neaten it up.

Step Two

Fill brows with Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil in Dark Brown, making feathery hair strokes to define brow shape.

Step Three
Dab onto the middle of the eyelid Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Solstice and blend away with a dome fluffy brush.

Step Four
Add lashings of black mascara to top and bottom lashes, I used the Bobbi Brown Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara in Black.

Step Five
I then went around the base and sculpted gently with a cream bronzer, so that the skin felt a touch bit warmer around the edges. I used the Chantecaille HD Perfecting Powder in Bronze.

Step Six
Dab on from the M.A.C Pro Lip Palette in Necessary Nude a soft nude colour to balance the eye while not interfering with the intensity of the look.

Et Voilà! A Christmas Eye to add festive cheer to your look.
