As the most expensive spice in the world, saffron has a long history of magic, mysticism and mystery. According to Britannica, "the saffron crocus has long been cultivated in Iran and Kashmir and is supposed to have been introduced into Cathay by the Mongol invasion... It was cultivated by the Arabs in Spain about 961 and is mentioned in an English leechbook, or healing manual, of the 10th century but may have disappeared from western Europe until reintroduced by the crusaders. During various periods, saffron has been worth much more than its weight in gold; it is still the most expensive spice in the world."

So Aurélien Guichard, who in 2016 launched an organic farm with his family land in the famed Grassed region in France to cultivate the best ingredients for perfume, decided it was time to focus a little further afield with his latest launch, Crystal Saffron.  Centred around the key ingredient of Greek saffron oil, the scent is balanced with notes of Musk Habanolide, Ambroxan and Somalian Incense Oil.  This was Aurélien’s first time working with natural saffron, sourced from the Kozani region of Greece. “I was immediately inspired by its bright, crystalline nature. Crystal Saffron is a fragrance built around an overdose of natural saffron, like never before.”

Crystal Saffron will transport you elsewhere this Fall, as the days get darker and gloomier it's a surefire pick-me-up for an injection of the promise of a new season to come.
