The Perfect Plump
The appetite for perfectly plumped lips is a tale as old as time. But for those fearful of long-term fillers or cosmetic surgery, today’s lip plumpers offer ample oomph for those looking for a daily lift. And we’re not talking about those teenage lip glosses that made your lips tingle (and not in a good way), with their low-grade irritant ingredients like mint, cinnamon and chilli, to make your lips look bigger. New plumping products have been upgraded with gentle, lightweight and hydrating formulas… and a cult classic is The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer.

Recently reinvented by Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, the Lip Maximizer guarantees extreme shine, optimum hydration and a long-lasting volume effect, while using 90% natural ingredients. Donned by Golden Globe Winning The Queen’s Gambit actress, Anna Taylor-Joy for Dior’s latest campaign, the lipgloss comes in a new pallet of 31 different shades.

Serum that Shines

Cosmetic science is a kaleidoscope of exciting innovation but with new anti-ageing serums, lotions and potions churned out en mass by the oversaturated beauty market, who really knows what actually works in stopping the clock with buzzy new launches hitting the shelves every five minutes?

Dior Beauty has stepped off the beauty treadmill to develop a considered product that actually does what it says on the tin. Taking over 20 years of stem cell research, 20 global academic collaborations, 10 patents, and 100+ scientific publications, Dior’s Capture Totale Le Sérum aims to reactivate the skin’s youth potential. Focusing on the high-potential mother cells, essential in rebuilding the skin's epidermis, the brand claims that the serum visibly improves skin firmness and reduces the signs of ageing in a few uses.

In developing the product, Dior also launched a testing platform, replacing the outdated Fitzpatrick scale which only accounts for six different skin tones. Instead, the new T.O.T.A.L. Platform pulled from a testing pool of more than 600 people globally to identify 110 distinct skin types, which determined Le Serum’s inclusive standout formulation.

Dior Capture Totale Le Sérum, £99 (50ml). Available now also on Dior.com
