The lights are twinkling above Regent Street, and the forecast is flippin’ freezing. It can only mean one thing... Ho-Ho-Ho, Christmas is coming!

However, before you clock off and take up a week-long residency in front of the TV with a gargantuan tub of Celebrations, there’s a roster of fashion, art and music that’s crying out to be attended to! Gird your loins...

Art Car Boot Fair
Who doesn’t love a car boot sale? Sifting through curios bright and early on a Sunday morning never fails to yield excitement (and bargains).

Returning in its fifteenth year for one-day only, The Art Car Boot Fair presents a unique alternative to the weekly bric-a-brac that we’ve come to expect – celebrating the work of artists that include Pam Hogg, Billy Childish and Juno Calypso, who will be pitching up and selling their original artworks out of the back of their cars! Plus, this year will see the launch of the Art Cycle Basket Fair, in which the line-up includes artists Sir Peter Blake and Gavin Turk, who will celebrate the art of the bicycle, as we all aim to embrace an eco-friendlier future.

Glory To Sound
Spurred on by her love for music, the multi-hyphenate producer, DJ and broadcaster – who also boasts an MPhil in African history from Cambridge and a black belt in Karate – Nabihah Iqbal presents a new musical initiative through a series of events, Glory To Sound.

Spanning talks, live shows and club nights, Nabihah invites us to experience and explore music from different perspectives – investigating its power and the significance of how one song can bring us together. So far, the initiative has seen historian and presenter David Olusoga discuss the music that’s most important to him; meanwhile, artist and photographer Wolfgang Tillmans, plus musicians Lucinda Chua and James Maloney are on the cards for the near future.

Rinse, Repeat by Richard Malone
Commissioned as NOW Gallery’s winter collaborator, Irish designer Richard Malone – fabled for his study of the female form and a pioneering attitude towards sustainable practice – presents RINSE, REPEAT, an interactive, multi-disciplinary installation that sparks conversations around fashion, movement and art, as it circles between the creator, performer and viewer.

Pooling inspiration from sculpture and the constant fluidity of Greenwich Peninsula’s changing landscape, the show’s highlights include moving images that display performers repeating hypnotically captivating movements.

Gain an insight into Malone’s processes and passions, and get down there, NOW!

Festival of Print
Celebrating its twentieth anniversary (it’s a big’un!), East London’s Festival of Print sets up shop this month to display a vast range of works from over 70 East London Printmakers. Among these names are Claire Hynds, whose work is featured in collections at the V&A, the National Museum and the Gallery of Wales.

The special birthday edition isn’t one to miss; with a range of contemporary printmaking, it displays everything from traditional techniques to experimental processes. Feast your eyes!
