WHO // Natalie Bannister.

CAREER // Founder of Gutsy Girls, a community connecting likeminded women through sports, adventure and nature.

“Gutsy Girls birthday really isn’t about me, it’s about you! You inspire me, you push me forward and support me on this crazy journey creating Gutsy Girls." @gutsygirls

WHY // I admire Natalie for the adventurous platform she’s created, and her fearless spirit I’ve got to know through her Instagram. Having discovered the community recently, I’ve been watching her and her female-only crew closely with wanderlust as they on surf, paddleboard, hike and climb their way around the globe.

“Home from a beautiful autumnal 🍂 weekend in Scotland with 12 amazing Gutsy Girls. What a way to wrap up our Scotland adventures of 2018!"
 @gutsygirls

I love where the collective was born out from: it was after moving back to the UK from Portugal – where Natalie was based for three years – that she longed for the active water sports lifestyle and found it tricky to connect with likeminded people in the big smoke. And so, she went ahead and created an empowering and welcoming initiative, of day events and weekend retreats (where women can get stuck into “maximum adventure for minimum annual leave”), along with week-long cycling camps and hiking holidays.

"Taking it all in with a new friend in Norway." @gutsygirls

I’m crushing on Natalie for the sense of adventure she’s fostered inside of me – and I look forward to stepping outside of my comfort zone on one of her trips soon!
