Although we might all be stuck at home that does not mean the end of all culture. Rather, perhaps now is a good time to take a moment and try something new, read something you might not have had the time for before or stream a play as opposed to aimlessly flicking through double-digit tv channels (nothing good ever lurks there). From writing workshops to classic cinema, here's our round-up of things to keep you occupied this April.
Rupi Kaur's IGTV Writing Workshop
The poet and illustrator Rupi Kaur is running writing workshops from her home streamed via IGTV for all of us in need a little creative inspiration. Each one is an hour long and all you need is a paper and pen to take part as she guides you through writing three poems of your very own. #writewithrupi

The National Theatre
The National Theatre has announced that it is suspending all live performances until at least July. But fear not! For thanks to their NT Live programme they have a mighty archive cinema-quality recorded past plays which they will be steaming (for free) each Thursday alongside bonus material and cast and production Q&As. The first one is Richard Bean's farce 'One Man, Two Gunners' starring James Corden.

Galerie Thaddeus Ropac's ARTIST'S EYE Series
The Galerie Thaddeus Ropac has started a new series called ARTIST'S EYE in which they have invited artists to speak about an object which has inspired them and their work. Antony Gormley is the first and has recorded a video from home where he talks about his object: a sculptural piece of chalk, "something," he says, "that fits in the hand – that could have come out of the hand – but has actually come out of the earth... a remarkable self-made object."

TANKtv Seasons 1 & 2
TANK magazine's online film subscription service TANKtv offers a wealth of classic and international cinema. Produced as seasons of 10 to 12 films, each individual film is available for 4 weeks, with a new one added every Friday. Currently in its second season entitled 'Growing Pains', the current roster of films explore childhood. Highlights include The 400 Blows by Françoise Truffaut, Le Havre by Aki Kaurismäki and We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lynne Ramsay. They have also very kindly made Season 1, 'Beyond Varda', available for a limited time whilst we are all stuck at home.

ARKET's Downloadable Cookbook
Fancy a little smørrebrød or semla but unable to go out and procure it? Well, for lovers of Nordic nosh, ARKET have shared a digital version of their Cookbook for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter as a free download. Martin Berg, the Head Chef at ARKET Café, has said that the 23 vegetarian recipes follow "the natural rhythm of the seasons... [and] reflect our vision of the New Nordic everyday food.” Yum yum in my tum.
