I find it difficult to look at floral prints without thinking of the steely Miranda Priestly line from the film The Devil Wears Prada (“Florals, for spring? Groundbreaking!”). While introducing joyful accents of bluebells or sunny daisies to your spring wardrobe isn’t exactly groundbreaking, what about carrying across that cheery mood to the autumnal months?

It’s safe to say that at the autumn/winter 2017 shows, floral was a thing. Whether it was the Balenciaga tent dresses that were reminiscent of 1970's patterned curtains draped over the shoulders or the silky floral skirts that were paired with chunky cable knits. The fun Joseph shirt-dress that Caroline wears above or the delicate embroidered petals that ran through the Temperley collection. We were left feeling a little disorientated and certain that come autumn we, too, would be reaching for the flower prints.

But as the spring/summer 2018 collections kick off in New York, we’re predicting florals will be staying firmly in your wardrobe through 2018. Just days ago, the clothes at the Anna Sui show took us to a bohemian dreamland where floaty floral dresses were worn with matching neck scarves and peace-and-love nostalgia was in the air. We bet there’s more flower power where that came from.
