Don’t get us wrong… We’re all for chic all-black-errrrything shades à la Phoebe Philo’s Céline to mask a multitude of late-night ‘sins’ – but, when high summer hits, it’s time to throw a proverbial spanner in the works and thrust shades that scream ‘you couldn’t miss me if you tried’ into the spotlight.

What do we have in mind? A double whammy of saturated pink via Marques’Almeida’s chunky statement-makers, this season’s favourite futuristic yet sleek shape imagined in red from Chimi, and retro-inspired exaggerated cat-eyes in a transparent marigold hue from Illesteva.
