Saturday Car Boot sales are as much a part of the Great British DNA as afternoon tea at an elegant hotel or the smell of the London Underground. The promise of a bargain coupled with the opportunity to nose through other people’s belongings has, over the years, proved just too tempting for our nation’s masses to resist.

Riffing on that tradition, the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot sale takes the premise to new and elegant echelons. Hosted by the ever stylish Alex Eagle in partnership with THE OUTNET.COM, the event takes up residence at Brewer Street Car Park tomorrow, where proceeds from purchases will be donated to Women For Women International.

Far from your typical bric-a-brac of hairline-fractured ornaments and objets, what awaits you is a sartorial smörgåsbord of designer aisles curated by the likes of Alice Temperley MBE, Maria Kastani, Racil Chalhoub and more. In anticipation of the occasion, we asked each of them for a preview of what to expect – and why they’re throwing themselves into the cause.

Alice Temperley MBE
“I am so proud to be an ambassador for this inspirational charity. By giving women survivors of war the opportunity to learn new skills, Women for Women International helps them to break through the isolation caused by conflict and rebuild their lives.”

Maria Kastani
“Women For Women International is a charity that’s very close to my heart. The #SheInspiresMe Car Boot sale will help to raise funds as well as awareness, and help women victims of war to a better and brighter future. I’m hosting a children’s boot this year, which I’m so excited about; this beautiful dress by Caramel is my ‘must-buy’ item.

Racil Chalhoub
“I will be donating a selection of unworn RACIL pieces – there’s a Sunset/Lemon Miami suit from SS16 (it is our very last one and is so special) – as well as lots of things from my personal wardrobe, including a large pile of jeans in so many shapes and shades!”

The #SheInspiresMe Car Boot sale takes place on Saturday 12 May from 1pm at Brewer Street Car Park. Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased on the door. Get there early to avoid disappointment! Click here for more information.
