Christmas is a-coming which means whether you’ve been naughty or nice it is time to start thinking about what to gift this season. Gift shopping is the best kind (in my opinion) because it is the sort that can be done with an air of selfless generosity, despite the fact you are scrolling through Net-A-Porter. I always think it’s a good idea to get other people what you want yourself. This is for two reasons: 1. you have impeccable taste and so they are bound to love it and 2. if they just happen not to, you can have it for yourself.  In that vein, here is what some of the team at Because want to gift this Christmas

I've continued my red lip duo with luxury, organic beauty brand Kjaer Weis, where 25% of every sale of my colours goes directly to Women for Women: feel good on all fronts. This Yali Glass carafe is a beautiful swirl of homeware, all the better to hold all the things I'm meant to Marie Kondo out of my home for the new year. Wish me luck! Gabriela Hearst creates in a transparent, socially responsible way so anything from her brand is bought with the security of that knowledge. Plus, my hands need to stay warm, so these gloves are ideal. Need some candy coloured, delicious gemstones in your life? My capusle collection for Monica Vinader is going to give much happiness, I assure you. My 2020 resolution is to have more dinner parties. Well, actually, just HAVE a dinner party. These rainbow glasses from La DoubleJ Housewives will paint the table perfectly. I love organisers. This one from Smythson is simple and beautiful.

Despite being a secret scrooge, (however I will partake in the festivities when there's mince pies involved) I do enjoy satisfying my shopping craving by splashing the cash on guilt-free purchases for my loved ones. This year, Loewe's cube tote bag has won my heart for its fluid shape and practicality prowess, making it the perfect accompaniment for the beautiful-but-busy women that I know need. For stockings, a Fendi faux fur headband and a pair of Sophie Buhai double-hooped hoops is a fail-safe, and a set of Alighieri trinket dishes are the perfect home to keep said earrings safe. A gift, that inevitably will give back to me, are La DoubleJ's Wildbird dessert plates, so cute and colourful that it would be rude for the gift receiver not to present it back to me, with a mince pie on top.

I’ve chosen this watch because I once found a similar Hermès one with a day-to-night dial in a charity shop and gave it to my sister. I have never got over this act of generosity and so imagined receiving this Montblanc one would help rectify that. This candlestick by Les Ottomans is all sorts of over-the-top brilliant and I love it. I have a general rule never to give people gifts that you need to assess their size to buy. That means most clothing is out, but the oversized dimensions of this Tibi jumper make it an ideal present. These Bang & Olufsen wireless earplugs are meant to be great and although their description says owning them will mean you "don't have to reach for your cell to answer calls" I imagine they are also excellent for frenetic kitchen dancing. And finally, this little brass foot keyring by Carl Auböck is both amusing and an ideal stocking present.
