Ah, New York Fashion Week is here: The speed, the efficiency, the labels that I love to see, led by the personalities I adore! This season is the first time in a decade that I’ve not been able to travel there – but, well, with livestream and social media platforms 'filling in the gaps', we'll see if my #NYFW fix can at all be filled...

This month on Because Magazine, my #IssaLewk column will be highlighting some of my favourite brands' SS19 pieces – and, as all eyes turn to the Big Apple, I’m kicking things off with a nod to Amy Smilovic's Tibi.

Tibi has long been a go-to of mine. Founded in Hong Kong in 1997 when Amy was based there, the brand has gone from strength to strength, amassing a loyal following of customers like me, who rely on it for outfits in which you can get sh*t done. I always get a kick out of seeing her approach to shape and colour; she's a master of serving up real clothes for busy ladies, who want to pack some punch into their outfits and need their looks to do the talking.

An entrepreneur herself, Amy knows the importance of such things: And the wardrobe that she creates for the women around her is equally as pragmatic, whilst also offering up real style

A dress, like this floaty illustrated number for example, is every bit as comfortable, breezy and sophisticated (yes, that combination is possible!) as you’d hope from a look that you’ll be running here, there and everywhere in. A violet print adds a dash of vibrancy and the gathered collar leaves some room for a great necklace if you’re wanting to introduce more detail.

I can’t wait to see what Amy unveils for her Fall/Winter show this Sunday – and to start bookmarking the looks that will, undoubtedly, make it into my closet next season.
