What… YVMIN's Silver Tone Electronic Girl Pearl Headband

Why… Because it’s time for a surrealist headband revamp

As British novelist Iris Murdoch once said, ‘One of the secrets of a happy life is continuous small treats.’ This life motto is epitomised in the Chinese jewelry brand, YVMIN. Launched in Beijing in early 2013 under the creative direction of jewelry designer, Zhang Xiaoyu and fashion designer, Li Min, the brand strived to create a sense of unreality – being inspired by the fantasy of surreal space and curiosity to future world.

The innovative brand has recently launched its newest collection on Browns.co.uk, and we are living for the avant-garde treats. The collection exudes mysteriousness and futurism through its focus on novel materials and techniques – the YVMIN studio hence is more like ‘a lab for body ornaments’, where the exploration of any body-related possibilities is covered.

We are unapologetically obsessed with this headband. Designed to wrap over the front of the ears and sit around the back of the head, it’s made from a thin silver-tone metal embellished with a trio of pearls at each end and an embossed logo. The harmony of the extra-terrestrial glamour with the minimalist-chic, fine metal guiding the pearl down the cheekbone is out-of-this-world.

There is a Chinese proverb that states, ‘pearls do not lie on the seashore. If you want one you must dive for it.’ We have a feeling that this niche brand is going to be the next big thing, so we recommend you dive in for this headband, before it’s swooped up.
