What? A bespoke collection of hand-crafted resin bags.

Why? Because... A handbag in resin!

Always asking “what’s next?”, dynamic design duo Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy, of Sydney-based Dinosaur Designs, have now risen to a new resin challenge – casting their net further afield with a range of handbags.

But forget what you thought you knew about handbags – in strong and durable resin, these designs should be treated like a ceramic (i.e if you drop or knock them against a hard surface, it could be game over!), while they give a whole new meaning to ‘wearable art’.

Designed to match the miniature artworks and sculptures (read: necklaces, brooches, bangles, pendants and vases) from the new Riverstone collection, the bags come in three colourways. There's burgundy, forest green, and a chalky white with touches of cream and black, but no two bags  are the same, for the colours and swirls take on their own forms when casted.

Holding craft and nature as paramount, each bag is handcrafted from start-to-finish – from the mould to the mix, set and polish process – while the design itself riffs on geological patterns and the smooth forms of pebbles. Featuring adjustable straps, the styles can be worn under the arm or as a shoulder bag – and they make for the perfect plus one at dinner parties with their flat base that's designed for sitting elegantly on display.
